Lifelines is the second studio album by Andrea Corr and consists of covers. It was released on 29 May 2011 as a digital download and 30 May 2011 on CD.[2] The album is a personally curated collection of songs that have resonated throughout Andrea's life and includes versions of songs by a range of artists from The Velvet Underground, Kirsty MacColl and Harry Nilsson to Ron Sexsmith, Nick Drake and The Blue Nile.[3] The lead single, "Tinseltown in the Rain", was released to the iTunes Store on 17 April 2011.The album is also available worldwide via the iTunes Store.
As well as standard CD and digital download releases, the album was released as a special limited edition with a bonus DVD. It includes exclusive performances and interviews.[2] To promote the album, Corr has performed songs from it at shows in London, Birmingham, Glasgow, Salford and at the Isle of Wight Festival 2011.[3].She has also promoted the album at TV,radio shows,web-exclusive interviews and performances around Europe.
Corr was supposed to play at Vicar Street, Dublin, Ireland on 7 June 2011, but due to scheduling issues it has been postponed[4]. Tour dates in the Philippines were also set in the Smart Araneta Coliseum on 16 October 2011 and at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino on 18 Oct 2011[5] but are currently postponed as a result of personal medical advice Andrea has received.[6] This 'personal medical advice' is now known to be due to Corr currently expecting her first child,due in spring 2012. [7][8]
